Sandy Shalk

Alexander ("Sandy") Shalk has been performing on guitar for over 35 years. His music has ranged from ensemble work as a member of popular bands in the Delaware area to presenting powerful, jazz-tinged Celtic pieces on solo guitar in concert and recording settings. He is gaining accolades from guitarists, other musicians, and general audiences for his groundbreaking jazz, Celtic, and pop arrangements on guitar. He plays comfortably in a variety of guitar tunings, including the DADGAD tuning invented by the late Davy Graham, and brought by Sandy to another level in the jazz idiom.

Sandy and Tim Alexander were the first musicians featured in the Guitarist Presentation Series of the Piney Ridge Music record label.  Their CD called "Giving Voice" is distributed internationally through the CD Baby website, here (including sound clips):

Sandy is constantly working on new arrangements, and makes himself available to give lessons and workshops in his areas of interest.
